UGC Inaugural Awards Banquet

Tuscaloosa, Ala. – The United Greek Council (UGC) at The University of Alabama gathered to celebrate the achievements of its member organizations and students at the inaugural UGC Awards Banquet. The evening recognized outstanding leadership, service, academic excellence, and community impact across the council.

Awarded to Phi Sigma Rho
Recognized for their support of Schoolyard Roots by maintaining elementary school gardens and building compost bins, and for raising $2,400 for the Tuscaloosa Safe Center through a philanthropy night.

Academic Excellence Award

Awarded to Alpha Omega Epsilon
With an average GPA of 3.80 in the fall and 3.79 in the spring, this chapter demonstrated an outstanding commitment to academics.

Recruitment Excellence Award

Awarded to Alpha Kappa Psi
Honored for conducting 160 interviews and initiating 91 new members during the academic year while advancing inclusion and professional diversity.

Social Media Impact Award

Awarded to Alpha Omega Epsilon
Recognized for using social media to engage the community and highlight the chapter’s mission, diversity, and excellence through creative, consistent content.

Glow Up Award

Awarded to Sigma Alpha Iota

Honored for strong internal unity and community impact, including raising over $2,800 for Nick’s Kids in memory of a beloved member.

Greek Wellness Award

Awarded to Alpha Omega Epsilon
Recognized for prioritizing member well-being through intramurals, mental health initiatives, DEI programs, and social wellness events like Karaoke & Self-Care Night.

Council Award

Awarded to Theta Tau
Presented for perfect attendance at UGC events, outstanding participation, and fostering cross-council collaboration.
