The University of Alabama Interfraternity Council (IFC) officially opened registration for Fall 2025 Recruitment on April 1st, inviting incoming or current students to take the first step toward joining one of the Capstone’s 36 IFC fraternities. Registration is required for all potential new members and can be accessed under the “Recruitment” tab at www.universityofalabamaifc.com.
IFC is committed to helping new students navigate the recruitment process. Aaron McFarland, IFC’s Vice President of Recruitment noted that the council has compiled a comprehensive recruitment guide designed to assist potential new members.
“With the help of the thirty-six chapters which make up the Alabama Interfraternity Council, we’ve created an informational guide to help students throughout their recruitment process,” McFarland explained. “This guide includes each chapter’s unique characteristics and allows you to gather insight on the differences between our chapters here at The University of Alabama.”
The guide is just one part of what McFarland describes as an exciting and formative experience for incoming students. He emphasized that the journey begins with registration.
“The first step every potential new member must take is registration for IFC recruitment,” he said. “Through registration, recruitment chairs will be able to access your contact information. If you have not been contacted by any recruitment chairs, please use this guide to initiate the process.”
As students look ahead to joining Greek Life, McFarland reflected on the lifelong value of fraternity membership at Alabama.
“Thousands of active brothers and alumni can attest to the value of joining a fraternity at The University of Alabama,” he said. “The recruitment process is an amazing opportunity to meet new people and get involved as an incoming student.”
