IFC Hosts Inaugural Golf Invitational at The Dells

Tuscaloosa, Ala. – The University of Alabama’s Interfraternity Council (IFC) is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural IFC Invitational Golf Tournament, bringing together fraternity members, alumni, and friends for a day of spirited competition and philanthropy. The tournament will feature 25 teams competing in a four-man scramble format—all chasing the honor of donning the coveted Crimson Jackets, awarded to the championship team.

Beyond friendly rivalry and golf course bragging rights, the event holds a deeper purpose. Proceeds from the tournament will go directly toward supporting the newly established IFC Endowed Scholarship, a landmark initiative aimed at broadening access to the Greek experience.

“This tournament is more than just a day on the course—it’s a commitment to ensuring that every deserving student has the opportunity to join a fraternity without financial barriers,” said an IFC Vice President, Jack Hastings. “Through this endowed scholarship, we’ll recognize an outstanding underclassman by fully covering their fraternity dues for the year.”

The scholarship, the first of its kind under the IFC’s direction, reflects the Council’s ongoing mission to promote inclusivity, leadership, and academic excellence within the fraternity community. By reducing financial strain, the award will allow recipients to more fully engage in chapter life, leadership opportunities, and service.

“We’re thrilled to debut this tournament as both a celebration of Greek Life and a powerful tool to give back,” the Hastings added. “It’s the start of what we hope becomes a lasting tradition.”
