APA receives the NPC College Panhellenic Award

Tuscaloosa Alabama – The Alabama Panhellenic Association (APA) has been recognized with one of the highest national honors in sorority life, receiving the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) College Panhellenic Award for 2025. This distinction is reserved for the top 1% of college Panhellenic executive boards across the country that demonstrate excellence in leadership, collaboration, and the promotion of Panhellenic spirit on campus.

As the largest Panhellenic community in the nation, APA is home to more than 8,000 undergraduate women and 19 sorority chapters. The award honors associations that have gone above and beyond in fostering values-based leadership, cross-council collaboration, and a vibrant, inclusive recruitment process. “Greek life provides some of the most valuable experiences UA has to offer,” said APA President Kaylee Waskom. “As the largest Panhellenic Association in the country, we provide a home to thousands of members and set the standard for not only our students, but also students nationwide.”

The award is based on a comprehensive evaluation of campus programming, recruitment success, leadership development, academic support, and service initiatives. In each of these areas, the APA has shown not only consistency, but innovation.

“Our Executive Board is honored to receive this recognition,” said Reagan and Carson, APA’s Director and Assistant Director of Recruitment. “This award reflects the dedication and passion of our chapter leaders, advisors, and most importantly, our community of members who show up every day ready to support one another.”

Throughout the past year, APA has led efforts to strengthen relationships between the four Greek councils on campus, expand educational programming for members, and support community outreach initiatives. The Board has also focused heavily on recruitment education and transparency, promoting an open-minded, values-based recruitment experience.

“The women that make up our 19 chapters are so excited to share their values, sisterhood, and service with the greater campus community,” said Reagan and Carson. “It is our hope that every student who engages with Panhellenic feels welcome, empowered, and seen.”
