Part of what makes Alabama’s fraternity and sorority community special is our on-campus presence. The majority of our Greek organizations have houses, or chapter facilities on campus.
Most houses offer food service during the week for members and a space for meetings and events throughout the year. House occupancies range from 16 to 80 members, and all facilities have a House Director that manage the day-to-day operations of the chapter facility. Along with individual chapter houses, our campus has Greek Assembly Hall that caters towards our NPHC and UGC councils.

Living In the Chapter House
Living in a University of Alabama Greek house is a privilege. Each organization has its own set of criteria and selection method, and UA also has certain requirements for eligibility:
Eligible
Current enrolled University of Alabama students that have completed at least 24 credit hours at Alabama
Active members of the organization
Ineligible
Freshmen are not allowed to live in fraternity or sorority houses. Most are required to live in the residence halls for the full school year, unless they get special permission from Housing and Residential Communities.
Students not enrolled at The University of Alabama or listed on the current chapter roster on file with OFSL are not allowed to live in the chapter house.
